Cổ Cự Cơ là ca sĩ, diễn viên nổi tiếng có sức ảnh hưởng trên nhạc đàn Hồng Kông. Hiện anh tập trung sự nghiệp ở lĩnh vực âm nhạc.
Cổ Cự Cơ gia nhập làng giải trí từ năm 1991, hoạt động chủ yếu trong lĩnh vực âm nhạc. Từ năm 1994 đến 1998, anh ký hợp đồng quản lý và ghi âm với Music Impact (Sony BMG), 1998 - 2001 với Warner Music (EEI), 2003 với Gold Typhoon (EMI), sau đó chuyển sang Music Plus (EEG) cho đến nay.
Về sự nghiệp diễn xuất, Cổ Cự Cơ không tham gia nhiều nhưng hầu hết là vai chính, từ phim của TVB Hồng Kông cho đến các phim Trung Quốc, tiêu biểu nhất là vai Hà Thư Hoàn trong Tân Dòng Sông Ly Biệt của nữ sĩ Quỳnh Dao.
Năm 2014, Cổ Cự Cơ kết hôn với Lorraine, trợ lý của anh. Hai người đã hẹn hò 20 năm.
